Welcome: Welcome to the Britannia Models website and our offerings in the 2008 model year! Our product listings for Hornby and Bachmann are now updated for 2008. Other product listings will get updated as we have time. Many, such as Metcalfe, Superquick, Peco, Ratio, Wills, and Kestrel, have not changed. STORE HOURS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE: Holiday Closure: We will now be closed until Friday January 2nd, 2009, when normal business hours will resume. During January and February we tried new opening hours and an appointment system for certain days. We have found this worked well in two ways. Firstly, we have more hours to respond to our email and phone orders, which is appreciated by our remote customers, and secondly, people visiting the store by appointment, were able to receive our full attention which was appreciated by them. All three for $33.00 Latest News: November 17, 2008 - News out of Hong Kong/China is that Sanda Kan, who manufacture model trains for Hornby, Brawa, Atlas, Lionel, Walthers and many others, has been acquired by Kader Industries, who manufacture Bachmann trains for the US and UK markets. At this time we do not know if there will be any impact to delivery schedules of remaining 2008 releases.

November 1st, 2008 - We now have in stock the Hornby DCC Train Sets and the Select and Elite, Hornby DCC Control Systems. Check our listings for prices. All the Hornby train sets and systems are supplied in North America with a 4 amp transformer.

August 22, 2008 - We are now carrying the Bassett-Lowke 2-rail, O gauge British outline models. Loco models include Class A3; Class J39 0-6-0; Re-built Patriot 4-6-0 and N Class Mogul 2-6-0. Call or email for pricing and ordering information.

July 1, 2008 - We have received most of the planned 2008 releases in the Skaledale range from Hornby, in our most recent shipment. As many Skaledale items are now short-lived, we encourage you to contact us with your requirements. Also just received are the Skale Lighting accessories from Hornby. These are perfect for, you guessed it, lighting up your Skaledale or Lyddle End buildings. We have many more SkaleAutos too including more of the double-decker buses. A great buy at $11.50 per bus!

May 19, 2008 - A large amount of Triang, both British outline and Transcontinental, has just been received. If you are a Triang collector there are some nice items in this lot. We will not get a chane to put a list together until June now but if there are specific items you are looking for, let us know and if it is in the lot we will get back to you.

March 12, 2008 - We have our first Hornby items from the 2008 range. These include the Skaledale Coal Mine and many other new Skaledale buildings, plus a lot of the Skale Autos, road vehicles in 1:76 scale. The streamlined version of Duchess of Hamilton is here in LMS Crimson with gold striping, based on the streamlining activity with the real engine by the NRM. We also have Bachmann Jubilee 'Alberta' and 'Hong Kong' (sorry, the LMS version 'Australia' is currently sold out but more to come). Also in are the first models in Hornby's Railroad Range of models at more affordable prices. These include, Flying Scotsman, LMS Jinty and Caledonian 0-4-0 Pug.

January 18, 2008 - We have a special offer, good until March 31st. Purchase the hard-cover, 100+ page book, 'Seasons of Steam' at the regular price of $39.95 and receive a free copy of the 2008 Seasons of Steam Calendar. Both these publications feature great colour images of steam locos at work on Britain's preservation railways and main line excursions. The calendar was originally $14.95 but can now be purchased on its own, for $12.50

January 5, 2008 - We received many new items between Christmas and New Year which we are now unpacking and advising our advance order customers. These include; more King Arthurs (Class N15 in SR and BR), Maunsell coaches in SR and BR, the first of the Stanier 2-6-4T's (LMS livery), Class A4 'Wild Swan', Class A3 'Ladas' Caledonian Train Pack and more. From Bachmann we have the first of the new Jubilees (BR liveried 'Hong Kong') and Standard Class 4MT 2-6-0's. So, lots to see if you drop by.

November 3, 2007 - New arrivals include the Hornby Rebuilt Royal Scots and Rebuilt Patriots, Dapol's N scale Virgin Voyager sets and BR (ex-Southern) Q1 Class 0-6-0 tender locos. We also have the Virgin Voyager 4-car train in OO scale from Bachmann.

September 20, 2007 - We have the Ace Trains petrol tank wagon sets #7 and #8 arriving soon! If we have not been able to contact you and you want one or both of these final tank wagon sets, please get in touch as soon as possible. We also have some of the Ace Celebration 4-4-0 locos coming in as well as the Brake Van (Guards Van) which is available as a stand alone item and is available free to anyone who has ordered through Britannia Models,all the petrol tank wagon sets, number 1 thru 8, in exchange for the vouchres that were included in each of the tank wagon sets (i.e. you would have 8 vouchers to exchange for a free Guards Van). In a couple of months we expect to receive the all new Ace Trains Castle Class 4-6-0 loco in GWR and BR liveries. Place your order now to ensure delivery from the first batch.
