Prairie Country Furniture offers a full line of country style furniture which is built from very old pine. Usually from barns that were built in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The old pine we use to build this furniture has a warmth and charm that just can't be found in new wood furniture.     Here is one of our customer's own creative designs. We worked together to customize & create the image she had in mind. This double- bowled sink vanity was created using the trestle table style to produce this great looking and unique bathroom. When sanded, they expose decades of natural wear character which vary from a very rustic, to a more refined look. The many characteristics such as faded mill marks, nicks, nail holes, and color contrast are revealed in the depth of this age old wood.   The old pine is first carefully selected and considered where it will best be used on your piece of furniture. Next each board is sanded clean of dirt and oxidation to prepare it for construction and finish.   Joinery is hand fitted and glued, then fashioned together with authentic looking black square headed nails for superior holding power. Finally a high quality 2 coat catalyzed satin lacquer is applied after staining, for a long lasting durable protection.
