The Film Advisory Board, Inc. Review Committee is pleased to announce Kids Exercise with Arfy DVD/VHS has been honored with our Award of Excellence Tribute. This DVD is fun, educational, and Arfy teaches and amuses the children. The DVD consists of a warm-up, stretching, resistance training section for upper body and lower body, aerobic conditioning and then a cool down consisting of another section of stretching. The children use lightweights appropriate for their age. They are instructed on the proper techniques on weight lifting and assisted by their parents or another adult family member. The exerciser will need a pair of ankle weights each approximately 1 to 4 lbs., and a set of 1 to 3 lb. dumbbells. It is great family fun. There have been numerous studies showing that weight training is beneficial to children as long as they are correctly supervised. They learn how good it feels to be in good condition and will want to continue to feel good throughout their life. It has also been shown that if children learn to exercise early in life they are more likely to exercise into adulthood. The children will gain an understanding of how healthy they feel as a result of exercising.
